Pie chart is one of most fundamental charts in data visualizations. It does not have any fields on Columns or Rows. Pie chart is used to display proportional data.
Right-click State and select Create > Set
Name the set Top States by Profit. Select Top 1 by Sales Sum
Create a calculated field:
Calculated Field: Top and Other
Formula: IF [Top States by Profit] then [State] ELSE 'Other' END
Select Pie on the Marks card
Place Sales on Angle
Place Top and Other on Color
Your pie chart will look like below. You also need to set the canvas to Entire View for optimized chart size.
