Choropleth Map

Tableau Canvas Layout:

A choropleth map typically do not have any Measures or Dimensions on Rows and Columns. Instead, it has Longtitude and Latitude while other fields are shown on Marks card.

Data Set: Sample Superstore Dataset

Building a Choropleth Map

Using the Superstore data:

Double-click Country/Region. This will put Latitude (generated) on the Rows, and Longtitude (generated) to Columns.
Move any Measures of choice to Color. Here, I use Sales.
Move State to Details. This will color-code the map based on states. Choose any color in the drop-down menu as you please.
